Published human clinical study finds HMB + Vitamin D decreases fatty muscle tissue in middle-aged participants

Muscle and fat mass-related changes in body composition start in our 30s. There is wide-ranging research supporting the significance of ꞵ-hydroxy-ꞵ-methylbutyrate (HMB) for muscle health in the 18-40 age group as well as those 65+. In this most recent double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, investigators determined that HMB + vitamin D appears to maintain muscle size in sedentary conditions, and to decrease intermuscular adipose tissue in middle-aged women with Vitamin D3 sufficiency, independent of exercise.
